The Cat Whisperer

A cat whisperer is very much like a dog or horse whisperer, although cat whisperers relate quite well with cats. These types of people are unusually easy going and very successfully with cats. In a lot of cases, a cat will be abandoned or just show up on someones door. In this case, the cat will adopt this person as the cat whisperer.

Frequently, alley cats and black cats will show up on someones door and decides to move into their homes. This may be a result of abandonment or cats are family members who move away and just leave the cat behind. Occasionally, the cat may decide that he likes someone else’s home better and decide to move there rather than staying with his owner.

A lot of people will tell you that a cat whisperer can be seen as a therapist for cats. Almost all cat whisperers haven’t got any kind of training, what they know just seems to come to them naturally. These types of people naturally understand how a cat thinks and know how to work with the cat to achieve the results they want. While many think of a cat whisperer as a therapist, it couldn’t be further from the truth. They just seem to understand cat problems.

Cats who have been abused or mistreated, often will not respond to anyone but a Cat Whisperer. While others have tried to help the cat, it will only get worse by the cat feeling scared and afraid. In most cases these cats end up in the pound. The majority of the cats who have been abused were once loved pets. During their past they were abandoned, abused, attacked by dogs, and in some cases tortured.

Cats who have been treated unfairly often times tend not to trust anyone. They are often confused, in a lot of pain, and not sure what to do. As with humans, cats feel pain. Those who have been physically abused are a sad sight. Emotionally damaged cats may appear to be in perfect health on the outside, even if their emotions are a wreck. Emotionally abused cats are much harder to reach, especially if they were stray cats to begin with.

Cat whisperers for instance, can communicate with physically and emotionally abused cats. Cats know who they will choose as their cat whisperer, normally an individual they sense trust with. Cat whispers are common with cats, although most people have never heard of them before. Even if a cat Whisperer may be able to communicate better with cats, it will still take time to heal a cat that has been abused.

Like humans, cats also suffer from various kinds of diseases. Luckily, most of these illnesses are not contagious to other pets or humans. One common disease that a cat may experience is feline panleukopenia, also known as distemper. This disease is a viral gastrointestinal disease accompanied by fever, vomiting, diarrhea, and dehydration. Unfortunately, there is no cure for this type of illness and the cat may die after a few days. Another common illness of cats is the upper respiratory disease. This is caused by a cold virus specific only to cats. The symptoms experienced are similar to humans such as fever, snotty nose, salivation, oral ulcers, difficulty of breathing, and inflamed eyes with excessive tearing. This infection can last up to eight weeks. On the other hand, a pet may also be infected with rabdovirus, which is transmitted from an infected cat towards another. This would cause symptoms such as difficulty swallowing, hydrophobia, increased salivation, and unexplainable behavior. It is important to be very cautious not to get bitten by infected pets. The effect of rabies is fatal to humans.

If your cat is suffering from a disease, it is best to get immediate treatment. Laboratory tests and blood works may be done to correctly diagnose the disease. Contact a local veterinarian and get your pet treated.
